Here’s How to Find the Right Pro Bono Opportunity for You
The Indiana Lawyer
In the article “Here’s how to find the right pro bono opportunity for you,” associates Molly Madden and Cassidy Segura Clouse gave an overview of how Hoosier attorneys can find pro bono opportunities that fits with their location and desired commitment level.
The authors noted that Pro Bono Indiana (PBI), a state-wide nonprofit organization, focuses on connecting legal professionals with pro bono opportunities. PBI provides attorneys of all experience levels with training and mentoring and has developed an expansive network of remote and in-person limited-scope, brief advice clinics across the state. They noted that attorneys looking to get involved with one of PBI’s clinics can call their local district office or visit probonoindiana.org for more information. Further, the authors say that the Indianapolis Legal Aid Society can connect attorneys with pro bono work in Marion County.
“The open casting call for pro bono actors will not close in any imaginable future,” the authors write. “Dedicated paralegals and very junior to very senior attorneys all have a moral (if not professional!) obligation to find a role that fits. Opportunities abound.”
