Kathy Osborn Speaks With Law360 on Proposed Policy Changes During the Next Presidency

Litigation partner and antitrust team co-chair Kathy Osborn spoke with Law360 on how President-elect Donald Trump’s reelection into office will keep international trade, immigration, tax and antitrust attorneys busy with his plans for policy changes.

The article discussed Trump’s focus on tariffs and his proposed universal tariffs of 10% to 20% on all imports and additional tariffs of at least 60% on Chinese imports.

"So, demand for trade compliance counseling likely will increase," said Osborn. If Trump is successful in his goal of using those tariffs to spur manufacturing growth, corporate work around increasing manufacturing capacity and adding to companies' employment base will go up as well, she added.

Osborn also noted that while the federal government may be less active in enforcing antitrust law under Trump, "state attorneys general have become more active in these areas and likely will continue to remain so."
