Sylvia Bokyung St. Clair Provides Insight On Child Labor Laws For Law360
Labor and employment associate Sylvia Bokyung St. Clair recently shared insights with Law360 on how employers can best manage child labor laws as the unofficial start of the summer hiring season begins.
St. Clair said between federal and state labor regulations, it is necessary for employers to stay up-to-date on the most recent changes in laws, particularly with work hours. She said it was critical for companies to ensure managers and employees are fully-trained and understanding of expectations with work.
"What we don't want happening is a supervisor, manager expecting this individual who's unskilled, who's under the age of 18 ... to do something in their job that has not previously been communicated to those individuals," she said.
