Carrie DeLange Memorializes U.S. District Judge in Law360

Business litigation partner Carrie DeLange reflected on her friendship with Senior U.S. District Judge Harry Leinenweber after his recent passing in an article for Law360. DeLange was a former law clerk of his from 2012-13.

Leinenweber, who was nominated to the court by President Ronald Reagan, spent four decades on the bench and oversaw the high-profile criminal trials of R. Kelly and the “ComEd Four.” DeLange said he was a “great friend and mentor to me.”

"Judge Leinenweber was an amazing judge and an even better person," she added. "He was compassionate both on and off the bench. It was an honor to work for and learn from such a brilliant jurist. He treated those who worked for him like family. I will cherish the memories I have working with Judge Leinenweber and will always remember clerking for Judge [Leinenweber] was the best job I'll ever have."
