Intentional Charitable Giving Can Maximize Young Lawyer’s Goals and Contributions

In an article for the American Bar Association, private client associate Brian Balduzzi provides an overview of how early-career attorneys can maximize charitable giving and make an impact on their community.
“Like legal practice, charitable giving is best done by understanding applicable tax laws, carefully researching how to give, and intentionally incorporating charitable giving into your personal finances,” Balduzzi writes.
Balduzzi also discusses best practices for young attorneys when giving, such as giving to public charities, carefully documenting their contributions and other avenues aside from cash which attorneys may donate, such as stocks or bonds.
Further, Balduzzi encourages attorneys to develop a plan when donating to charities and to contact mentors for support and guidance.
