Nicholas Manetto Shares Insights on Federal 340B Overhaul With 340B Report

In a 340B Report article, Faegre Drinker Consulting principal Nicholas Manetto explained how a legislative overhaul in Congress could potentially provide Medicare savings for the federal government. 

The publication reported that while 340B reform could advance in federal legislation, members of congress, lobbyists and other advocates said it would likely be part of a larger health care package in the future. However, Manetto pointed to a bipartisan draft bill, called the SUSTAIN 340B act, as a potential way for 340B reform to move forward. 

“I know the Senate discussion draft contemplates a user fee to cover new proposals for the program but don’t have a great sense as to the overall picture to the dollar level,” Manetto noted. “But I do think offsets will need to be part of the conversation if there is a serious effort to move any 340B legislation.”
