Overview

Hannah Barlow counsels public and private companies in their design and implementation of employee benefit plans, including as a result of mergers, acquisitions, and divestments. She guides clients with respect to their suite of benefit plan offerings through changes in statutory and case law, nuances of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code (including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and related federal and state laws and regulations), nondiscrimination testing and compliance fixes, multiemployer and single-employer pension matters, benefits claims and litigations, ERISA fiduciary risks and responsibilities, compensation and renumeration strategies, and various government agency filings, investigations and audits.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Hannah served as a senior associate in executive compensation, employment and benefits group at an AmLaw 100 firm in Chicago. There she represented clients in a wide variety of industries in their benefits matters. She also drafted and negotiated employee benefits and compensation representations in purchase agreements and credit agreements.

Personal Interests

Hannah is a big sports fan, particularly with respect to Penn State football.
