Energy and Commodities
As a proud Midwesterner, Kate enjoys using her versatile corporate and transactional experience to advance the goals of alternative and renewable energy clients as well as the lenders who finance energy projects, including those centered on biofuels, waste-to-energy facilities, wind and solar energy. She conducts and supervises vast due diligence efforts on behalf of such energy clients, drafts detailed memorandums addressing legal compliance and risk management considerations, conducts legal research, and drafts and negotiates project-specific agreements.
Prior Experience
Kate began practicing law in Ohio at a well-established regional law firm and later transferred to an Am Law 200 law firm. At both firms, she served as the lead associate on multimillion-dollar transactions and international acquisitions. She has also provided support to her former firms’ real estate practices by regularly preparing and negotiating various commercial real estate documents such as purchase agreements, leases and deeds.
Personal Interests
When not at the office, Kate can be found staying active (be it through exercise, getting outdoors or shopping), trying a new restaurant, or attending any nearby sporting event or concert with her husband, Jay.
