Overview

Maria Cho represents corporate debtors and creditors, including mid-sized businesses and publicly held companies, facing distressed financial situations. Maria has focused on bankruptcy and corporate restructuring law since receiving her J.D. and M.B.A. She advises clients in all aspects of Chapter 11 proceedings, including business reorganization, related litigation matters and preferential transfer actions.

Maria also assists real estate and construction stakeholders in dispute resolution, transactions and restructurings.

In her first year out of law school, Maria served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Robert N. Kwan and then served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Martin R. Barash of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California.

Maria currently serves as the Young Professional Chair for the Southern California Network of International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) for the 2022-23 term.
