Overview

Untangling complex medical product liability litigation is Kristina Coleman’s strong suit. As a member of the firm’s product liability team, she wields legal acumen and unsparing attention to detail to support health and life sciences, consumer products, and sports clients.

She is experienced in:

  • Collecting and reviewing company documents and data for production
  • Preparing strategic dispositive motions
  • Conducting complex legal research
  • Interviewing witnesses
  • Preparing matters for alternative dispute resolution

Kristina has played a key role in trial teams defending life-saving medical products in both state and federal courts. She has particular skills in preparing for the cross-examination of opposing expert witnesses.

Prior Experience

Kristina’s inside experience clerking at state and federal courts is rare. She clerked for Judge Doris L. Pryor — both on the Seventh Circuit and in the Southern District of Indiana — drafting opinions and orders, preparing bench memoranda analyzing parties’ briefs and suggesting actions for the court, and reviewing petitions for rehearings. Immediately following law school, she clerked for Judge Sheryl Lynch in the Marion County Circuit Court, drafting proposed orders, preparing research memoranda and analyzing quiet title cases for statutory compliance. During law school, Kristina served as a judicial extern for Justice Steven H. David in the Indiana Supreme Court, conducting legal research and preparing criminal transfer memoranda. She also served as a judicial extern for Judge Heather Welch in the Marion County Superior Court, assisting with civil and commercial court matters.

After joining Faegre Drinker as an associate, Kristina’s inside experience was extended to serving as a secondment attorney at Eli Lilly, where she strategized with inside and outside counsel on a variety of litigation, including product liability and contractual claims.

Kristina was also a summer associate at the firm, where she assisted attorneys with drafting amicus briefs to the Supreme Court of the United States, conducted legal research and drafted pleadings for pro bono cases.

Personal Interests

Outside the office, Kristina enjoys spending time with family and catching up on the latest TV shows and movies.
