Overview

Anthony Finnell is a litigator who tries and coordinates commercial, product liability and personal injury cases nationwide in all stages of litigation, including jury trials, appeals, arbitrations and settlements. In addition, Anthony advises clients on sports law and has been an advocate for universities and national sports associations in sports litigation, including in lawsuits by former players alleging persistent injury from concussions.

Anthony also champions clients’ causes in complex product liability litigation, class actions and toxic tort cases around the country, and he represents clients in various industries, including agribusiness, chemical and industrial manufacturing, medical devices, food products, and construction products.

Diversity & Inclusion

The firm selected Anthony for membership in the 2022 class of Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinders. The LCLD Pathfinder program is a seven-month professional program designed to train high-performing, early-career attorneys on foundational leadership and relationship-building. The program provides participants with the opportunity to learn from top leaders in the legal profession along with experts in the fields of learning and development and executive coaching.

Prior Experience

Anthony gained litigation knowledge and legal research and writing experience as a judicial law clerk in the Illinois Appellate Court and the Circuit Court of Cook County. His litigation focus is complemented by transactional and governance experience obtained during a clerkship with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and an internship with Cummins, Inc., where he drafted memoranda on products liability and other legal issues.
