Overview

Eric Friedman is a scientist dressed in lawyers’ clothing. He has experience defending companies accused of a wide variety of torts, but brings special skill to the scientific and expert witness issues that present themselves during product liability litigation. As a biochemist-turned-attorney, Eric is equally comfortable reviewing medical literature and researching case law. He blends those endeavors seamlessly when defending the science behind a company’s products, whether helping to develop and present defense theories or identifying and attacking the weaknesses in an opposing expert’s opinion.

Before joining the firm, Eric worked with a well-respected defense firm in the San Francisco Bay Area. During that time, he assisted clients on hundreds of cases, navigating the ins and outs of California state courts while defending tort claims from pre-litigation through settlement/trial.

Eric serves as co-chair of the firm’s Product Liability and Mass Torts Science & Experts Team and writes frequently on developments in expert witness discovery and admissibility. When he is not defending companies from tort claims, you’ll likely find him working pro bono to help veterans obtain disability benefits, or spending time with his wife and three young children.
