Overview

Kerry Gibbons is a civil litigator focusing on complex commercial litigation and white collar investigations and defense. Her experience encompasses breach of contract claims, shareholder disputes and class action defense. In addition, Kerry has assisted clients in matters in front of the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) the Department of Justice (DOJ), and other governmental and regulatory agencies. Kerry maintains a robust pro bono practice, with a recent focus on federal criminal defense.

Prior Experience

During law school, Kerry was a judicial extern to the Hon. John R. Tunheim of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. She was also a law clerk at the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General, where she supported charitable trust litigation, torts litigation and Eighth Amendment litigation. Kerry was a summer associate with Faegre Drinker in 2021.

Prior to law school, Kerry managed qualitative research projects for Atlantic Media in Washington, D.C., which publishes The Atlantic.

Personal Interests

Outside the office, Kerry enjoys biking around the city, exploring Chicago’s abundant food scene, and listening to constitutional law podcasts.
