Overview
Mass Torts
Andrew represents national and international companies in jurisdictions across the nation and internationally in mass tort litigation. Andrew’s dedicated and strategic approach to client advocacy has made him an integral member of the mass tort company case, discovery, expert, law and trial teams. Andrew’s mass tort experience includes the defense of cardiovascular devices, pelvic mesh, orthopedic devices and technology applications.
Medical Device
Andrew’s experience in the drug and device space includes litigation involving cardiovascular devices, biologics, orthopedic implants and pelvic mesh. He has developed extensive experience in all phases of litigation process, including managing complex experts, preparing a company case defense, and aggressive pursuing affirmative discovery through depositions, motion practice and written discovery. Andrew has also been an invaluable member of trial teams in high-stakes litigation in the most challenging jurisdictions, often resulting in favorable results for the client.
Food & Agriculture
Andrew has represented food companies in catastrophic product liability and wrongful death litigation involving claims that food products caused severe injuries. In additional to managing cases from the ground up, including fact discovery and expert discovery, Andrew has argued and won dispositive motions and defends his clients in related appellate litigation.
Toxic Tort
Andrew’s toxic tort experience includes the entire litigation cycle of large and small toxic tort matters. He has defended a class action and several personal injury actions involving environmental contamination claims. This defense included locating and developing expert witnesses, expert witness depositions and challenges, class certification opposition, dispositive motion practice, and ultimately a favorable resolution for the client. Andrew has also successfully defended companies in asbestos litigation, including deposition practice and successful dispositive motion practice.
Consumer Products
Andrew leads litigation defending products manufactured in subrogation matters involving allegations that their consumer products caused fires and property damages. Andrew has managed discovery, retained and developed experts, developed and executed motion practice strategy, mediated, and resolved cases favorably for his clients in more than 30 cases.
Prior Experience
Prior to joining Faegre Drinker, Andrew worked at the Minnesota Court of Appeals as an appellate clerk for the Honorable Francis J. Connolly.
Personal Interests
Andrew is a proud father to a daughter and son and loves playing and spending time with his children. He is an avid traveler with his wife, visiting exotic locations such as Scotland, Tanzania, Switzerland and Iowa. Andrew is the former co-manager of the firm's softball team, which won the lawyer-league championship multiple years under Andrew’s leadership. Andrew is a proud fantasy fiction enthusiast. His favorite authors and series include Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and everything written by Brandon Sanderson, who is — in Andrew’s opinion — the greatest fantasy writer of our modern age.
