Overview

Nolan Kurtz is the chief operating officer of Faegre Drinker and serves as a member of the firm’s executive leadership team. Responsible for all the firm’s day-to-day operations, Nolan leads its C-suite of talented and client-focused operational leaders.

He is well regarded for his ability to unite diverse perspectives to solve complex problems and drive innovative solutions. A collaborative, forward-thinking leader, Nolan values cross-functional teamwork to continually improve Faegre Drinker’s operations to drive efficiency, enhance client value and best serve clients. His passion for operational excellence, data-driven decision-making, process improvement and financial performance is invaluable to the firm’s mission and its client-centered culture.

Nolan places a strong emphasis on fostering a high-performing culture and brings a high-level of enthusiasm and intensity to law firm operations leadership.

Prior Experience

Nolan formerly served as COO of a national multipractice law firm and government relations practice, where he played key roles in its growth and innovative strategies. Previous to that he was a fee-earner as a lobbyist focused on information technology procurement, and had leadership stints in government, including at the Pennsylvania Department of State, where as deputy secretary for administration he directed the agency’s administrative support offices of IT, human resources, budget and contracting, and oversaw the activities of the Corporations Bureau. Nolan’s passion for operations led him to earn an MBA from Penn State while working full-time.

Personal Interests

In his free time, Nolan enjoys traveling, skiing, golfing and cooking for family and friends.
