Overview

Stephen Osseiran guides clients through protecting and defending their intellectual property. He represents clients in federal district and circuit courts, as well as Trademark Trial and Appeal Board hearings. Drawing on a deep breadth of experience, Stephen assists clients by drafting pleadings and developing arguments, and authors pre-litigation letters on clients’ behalf. Stephen also has experience representing clients in Uniform Domain-Name Dispute Resolution Policy proceedings.

Prior Experience

Before joining Faegre Drinker, Stephen served as an associate in the intellectual property litigation group of a law firm in Chicago. There, he focused his practice on technology and worked with clients in the mechanical devices, software, electrical devices, health care, and shipping and logistics industries.  

Stephen also served as a summer associate at a law firm with offices in Chicago and Frankfurt, Germany. There, he drafted U.S. provisional and nonprovisional patent applications, office action responses and advisory actions for different kinds of technologies including automotive, aviation, electrical devices, robotics, commercial goods, optical devices, internet-of-things and signal communications.

Before attending law school, Stephen served as a research and development engineer for a Tier 1 automotive supplier in the supplier’s exhaust system division. Stephen’s work as an engineer involved materials research as well as developing manufacturing process standards for welding and material joining.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Stephen has a keen interest in automotive manufacturing, architecture and watches.
