Jeremiah counsels multinational and other companies on a wide range of information technology and data processing transactions and compliance issues. His experienced insight supports clients whenever information technology assets and data are part of business transactions or initiatives.

A certified information privacy professional (CIPP/U.S./Europe/Canada) and technologist (CIPT), Jeremiah has the legal, technical and business acumen to advise clients on matters including technology development and implementation, licensing, outsourcing, data privacy and cybersecurity, breach response, InsurTech and e-commerce. He helps clients across industries and serves as a go-to resource for clients in insurance, financial services, gaming, and data and technology services.

IT Transactions

Jeremiah regularly structures, drafts, and negotiates IT and data sharing transactions including SaaS/cloud services agreements, outsourcing arrangements, software and database licenses (inbound/outbound), and system implementation and support contracts. He also has significant experience with reseller and distribution agreements, digital marketing engagements, AI and big data projects and InsurTech partnerships.

Privacy, Cybersecurity, & Data Strategy

Jeremiah is an authority on the fast-growing body of federal, state and international data privacy and security regulations and standards including:

Jeremiah collaborates with organizations to develop and implement comprehensive privacy programs and bespoke compliance strategies relating to digital and interest-based advertising, IoT, mobile apps, social media, big data and AI projects, blockchain and distributed ledger technology, e-commerce, workplace monitoring, cross-border data transfers and other data-driven business endeavors. He also advises clients on all compliance aspects associated with data breaches and related response obligations under state breach notification laws, HIPAA and GDPR, including security incident preparation, breach assessment and response management and consumer/regulator notification.

InsurTech

With extensive knowledge of information technology’s application to the insurance industry, Jeremiah provides tailored counsel on issues related to acquisition, distribution and leveraging of technologies and data, ranging from new forms of data generated by the proliferation of connected devices (IoT) to solutions enabling faster and more efficient underwriting, claims resolution and fraud detection. Jeremiah represents a broad spectrum of constituents in the insurance sector including P&C, life and specialty carriers, producers, MGAs/MGUs, reinsurers, technology vendors, data licensors and consultants.

Personal Interests

In 2004, Jeremiah served as a deputy campaign director to President Barack Obama’s successful U.S. Senate campaign. Jeremiah has a keen interest in technology innovation, global politics and WWII/Cold War history. He is a passionate world traveler, having explored most of Western/Central/Eastern Europe, Russia, China, Japan, South America and SE Asia.
