Overview

Ya Wang counsels clients in the investment management industry, including investment advisers, investment funds, and fund boards of directors, on matters arising under federal securities laws, particularly the Investment Company Act of 1940. 

Funds & Investment Management

Ya works on investment funds of various types and structures, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, interval funds, tender offer funds, and variable insurance products. She advises clients on a range of investment management and securities law matters, including fund formation, fund reorganization, preparation of various regulatory filings, negotiation of fund service agreements, ongoing fund operations and compliance, and fund board governance.

Prior Experience

Ya had experience working as a project attorney for TikTok, reviewing and coding Mandarin and English legal documents for relevance and privilege in ongoing litigations. 

While at Rutgers Law School, Ya was a summer associate with the firm. She also completed a judicial externship for the Honorable Andrew B. Altenberg, Jr., in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey in 2020.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Ya enjoys reading, meditation, and spending time with family and friends.
