Lionel Weaver navigates clients through the complexities of harnessing artificial intelligence and automated decision-making in a rapidly evolving legal and regulatory environment. As part of the firm's interdisciplinary artificial intelligence, algorithmic decision-making and big data (AI-X) team, Lionel helps clients develop bespoke AI governance programs, advises on laws and regulations implicated when using AI and algorithms, and devises practical risk management strategies to foster the responsible use of these emerging technologies, including the testing of AI models for potential algorithmic discrimination. Lionel works closely with the firm's technology subsidiary, Tritura, to craft legal and commercial solutions for clients that smartly leverage technology, and he has significant experience handling information governance, data privacy, cybersecurity and other technology-driven matters. Lionel brings a thoughtful approach to client services and is regularly called upon to bridge the gap between business and technology leaders while providing business-savvy guidance on complex matters.
