A critical access hospital completed an affiliation with a regional health system, adopting the system parent as its own. Our firm represented the hospital in the transaction, which involved the hospital’s nursing home and senior living facilities becoming a new nonprofit foundation. In connection with the affiliation, our firm also assisted the hospital with identifying and self-reporting noncompliance with the Stark Law’s lease exception for failure to meet proper documentation requirements.
