North America - United States | North America | United States - Louisiana

The owners of Louisiana oyster leases filed suit against an oil drilling company, claiming damages under Louisiana law. The dispute originated when the drilling company negligently operated in waters near the valuable oyster reefs, causing damage. After a three-day bench trial, and after winning on appeal, the oyster leaseholders received a recovery of over $4 million. Our firm represented the oyster fishery owners in this matter.
