DOJ Prosecutes Plaintiff’s Attorneys for Extortion

The U.S. Department of Justice prosecuted two licensed Virginia plaintiffs’ attorneys on federal extortion charges. Henry Van Dyck represented the DOJ in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Virginia. The plaintiffs pled guilty and admitted their roles in a scheme to extort a multinational chemical company by threatening to inflict substantial financial and reputational harm if their demands for a $200 million payment were not met.
