Faegre Baker Daniels Sponsors Inaugural IURTC Intellectual Property Internship
Faegre Baker Daniels has signed on as the exclusive sponsor of Indiana University Research & Technology Corporation's (IURTC) inaugural FaegreBD IP Internship.
The recipient of the inaugural FaegreBD IP Internship is Greg Gentry, a second-year student at Indiana University McKinney School of Law. Currently second in his class, Gentry started with IURTC on June 17 and will spend the summer focusing on a variety of intellectual property projects. Gentry is originally from Chesterton, Indiana. Before law school, Gentry attended Purdue University, where he studied biochemistry. While at Purdue, Gentry conducted undergraduate research in synthetic drug delivery systems. In addition to his studies at Indiana University McKinney School of Law, Gentry is an active member of the Moot Court Society and the Dean's Tutorial Society.
"Faegre Baker Daniels is committed to providing summer employment opportunities to talented law students, both through our firm's formalized summer associate program and by supporting opportunities like IURTC's FaegreBD IP Internship," said intellectual property partner Robert Null. "By investing in opportunities to cultivate young talent now, we ensure that law firms like FaegreBD can continue to provide excellent service to our clients in the future."
The summer internship is designed for a second-year law student with specific interest in intellectual property, and provides an opportunity to gain valuable in-house experience with the IURTC legal team. In addition, FaegreBD's IP team will provide several projects throughout the summer and host "private practice days" to expose the intern to practice in a large law firm environment. "We are looking forward to bringing Greg on board," said IURTC head of intellectual property Brion St. Amour. "His excellent academic record, combined with his strong interest in intellectual property law, makes him an ideal candidate for our summer internship. We are appreciative of FaegreBD's support, and look forward to making this a great opportunity for Greg to continue to sharpen his legal skills."
FaegreBD's intellectual property team has more than 100 lawyers in the United States, Europe and Asia, including 43 registered patent attorneys. Professionals handle complex IP litigation and transactions for clients ranging from multinational corporations to high-technology entrepreneurs.
