Matthew Kuhn Rejoins FaegreBD's Corporate Practice in Minneapolis
Matthew Kuhn has rejoined Faegre Baker Daniels’ corporate practice as a partner in Minneapolis after serving as vice president and assistant general counsel at Bluestem Brands from 2015-17.
Kuhn has a comprehensive corporate practice counseling clients on capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and securities regulations. He has represented buyers, sellers and financial advisors in domestic and international M&A transactions. Kuhn’s M&A experience includes transactions in the health care, manufacturing, software, consumer products and chemical industries. He has assisted numerous public companies with the preparation of SEC reports and proxy statements and advises public and private companies on corporate governance matters.
During his time at Bluestem Brands—a parent company of several ecommerce retail brands—Kuhn had direct responsibility for the company’s legal team and advised management and the board of directors on a wide range of matters, including securities, corporate governance, debt financing, commercial transactions and strategic matters.
Kuhn practiced at FaegreBD from 2006 to 2015, and prior to joining the firm, worked as a contract analyst at Guy Carpenter & Company, one of the world's largest reinsurance intermediaries.
Kuhn earned his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law, summa cum laude; he was also salutatorian and editor-in-chief of Law Review. He received his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, magna cum laude.
