• Leah Kendall (Health & FDA/2002) was promoted to Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs & Counsel at Cardinal Health in April 2023.
• Mike Maine (Labor & Employment/1964) reports he has been residing in Longhorn Village, a retirement community villa in Austin, Texas. Sadly, Mike lost his beloved wife, Sue, on March 31 of this year. Mike is keeping busy visiting friends and family. This September he will take the QE2 to Southampton for an orchestral tour. Mike expects to spend time at his beach house in Galveston in the fall and is planning to take a cruise to Central America and Mexico with his family over Christmas. Mike hopes to hear from many of his former Baker & Daniels colleagues and re-establish meaningful correspondence.
• Mark Shope (Business Litigation/2012) was promoted to Associate Professor of Law at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in April 2023.

Minneapolis

• Peggy Steif Abram (Corporate/1986) became President of the National Association of Women Lawyers as of August 1, 2023.
• Steve Ellison (General Litigation/2006) was promoted to Senior Legal Writer at Findlaw in April 2023.
• Kate Golden (Construction & Real Property Litigation/2000) was promoted to General Counsel at Mortenson, effective July 1, 2023. Kate succeeded Dwight Larson who retired after 19 years of service. As General Counsel, Kate leads Mortenson’s legal department and is responsible for oversight and counsel for all legal matters and in areas of compliance and corporate governance.
• Shannon Jankowski (Intellectual Property/2017) joined PEN America as Program Director, Journalism and Disinformation in April 2023.
• Chris Kay (Real Estate/1991) was promoted to Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Enterprise Platforms in June 2023.
• Andy Martens (Labor & Employment/1990) retired from Thomas Reuters in April 2023.
• Cicely Miltich (Business Litigation/2014) joined Jack Link’s Protein Snacks as Senior Corporate Counsel in June 2023.
• Jim O’Neal’s (Product Liability & Mass Torts/1978) short story, “The Unremarkable Death of Foxy Freddy” will be published in the fall edition of Whistling Shade, a Minnesota literary magazine.
• Anne Parrott (Labor & Employment/2008) was promoted to Vice President, Employee Relations Manager at US Bank in March 2023.
• Joseph Price (Product Liability & Mass Torts/1972) was appointed an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School for the fall of 2023.
• Christina Semmer (Business Litigation/2010) joined GBG LLP as Of Counsel in June 2023.
• David Simon (Business Litigation/2008) joined Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP as a partner in July 2023.
• David Stanley (Corporate/1960) officially retired from his position as President and CEO of Payless Cashways in 1998. Throughout his career, he remained active in civic affairs and held many corporate and non-profit board positions. Since his retirement in 1998, David and his wife have lived in Montana. They both continued to be active in civic affairs until about three years ago when David turned 85.
• Jerry Will (Corporate/1991) joined Wesco as Senior Vice President, Corporate Development in June 2023.

• Michelle Bufano (Product Liability & Mass Torts/1998) started her own business, Pivot Point Consulting Services LLC, which provides a multitude of proactive risk management services for start-ups and mid-stage companies, in May 2023.
• Tom Campion (Product Liability & Mass Torts/1962) earned a Masters of Letters degree from Drew University in May 2023. The Drew University Caspersen School of Graduate Studies Arts & Letters program included writing a thesis which Tom completed on Michael Collins and his work in ending the British-Irish Civil War in 1922.
• Kristen Curatolo (Private Client/2013) joined Seward & Kissel LLP as a partner in July 2023.
• Stacey Hanna (Corporate/2007) joined Precision Medicine Group as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in April 2023.
• Heidi Hilgendorff (Product Liability & Mass Torts/2000) joined Novartis as Director, Product Strategy Counsel in March 2023.
• Tiana Korley (Health Care/2001) was appointed Vice Chair for Education for the American Health Law Association’s Academic Medical Centers and Teaching Hospitals Practice Group for the upcoming program year.
• Shane O’Connell (Product Liability & Mass Torts/2016) joined Syndax Pharmaceuticals as Senior Director – Corporate Counsel, Commercialization and Development in May 2023.
• Melissa Provost (Labor & Employment/2015) joined Summit Health as Vice President – Lead Employment Counsel in April 2023.
• Andres Puerta (Labor & Employment/2018) joined the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission as trial attorney in January 2023.
• William Sanders (Commercial Litigation/1986) will become chair of the District XB Ethics Committee of the New Jersey Supreme Court as of September 1, 2023. He is also in his second year as a member of the Justice Marie Garibaldi Inn of the Court, which is devoted to Alternate/Complimentary Dispute Resolution. Bill recently authored the article “Essential Tools for Successful Mediation They Don’t Teach You at Your Average ADR CLE.” William is currently Counsel at PostPolak.
• Julie Tersigni (Product Liability & Mass Torts/2011) joined Kenvue as Senior Counsel, Products Liability Litigation Lead in May 2023.
• Tracey Van Dillen (Product Liability & Mass Torts/2007) joined Kenvue as Head of Litigation & Employment Law in May 2023.

• Audrey Taranto (Corporate/2005) was named one of the “2023 50 Women to Watch” by Corporate Counsel Business Journal in June 2023. The selection committee narrowed down almost 500 nominees to the final 50.
