Litigation Risk, Defenses, and Damages Under the CCPA

Overview

The California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA) will be one of the most significant data privacy laws in the United States, requiring considerable effort to meet the CCPA’s operative date of January 1, 2020, and its likely July 1, 2020, date for enforcement.

Jeremiah Posedel and Justin Kay of Drinker Biddle and Amy Keller of DiCello Levitt (a leading privacy/security plaintiffs class action attorney) discussed recent developments regarding the CCPA and the risks and litigation theories arising under the Act.

This was the third webinar in a series on the CCPA presented by Drinker Biddle’s Information Privacy, Security and Governance team. The CCPA series provides practical, detailed advice on preparing for the CCPA and insights regarding regulatory and other developments that may affect CCPA compliance efforts.
