ATA’s EDGE 2024 Policy Conference
Overview
Government and regulatory affairs partner Libby Baney and Faegre Drinker consulting principal Megan Herber hosted sessions at the ATA EDGE 2024 Policy Conference.
Baney’s session, titled “Telehealth, Privacy, and Shield Laws: Navigating Partisan Divides in State Policy,” delved into how partisan divides in shield laws impact telehealth services across a range of health care needs, including but not limited to reproductive health. The speakers discussed the current landscape of state privacy laws, the function of shield laws, and how differing legislative approaches affect patient access, provider protections, and cross-state health care delivery.
Herber’s session, “Heard on the Hill Congressional Panel,” consisted of Congressional staffers as they share insights from recent advocacy efforts on telehealth extenders, discuss the latest developments in telehealth legislation, and explore the outlook for making telehealth policies permanent.
