The authors highlight some of the more significant changes with which practitioners should familiarize themselves, including rules 1.4, 6.3, 7.1, 15.1, 26.2, 30.1, 37.2, and 56.1.
A clear trend of the new rules is to promote efficiency — whether through categorical privilege logs, remote depositions or streamlined statements of fact in support of summary judgment. This is further evidenced by the rules' contemplation that the parties will cooperate to reach agreement on discovery matters that further efficiency.
