Overview

Owyn Ferguson provides clients with individualized strategies for leveraging their technology and intellectual property assets. His unique entrepreneurial background allows him to anticipate clients’ business needs and deliver innovative solutions.

Prior Experience

Owyn first joined Faegre Drinker as a summer associate where he worked on a variety of different transaction types, including M&A, technology licensing and pro bono work that included patent assistance to underrepresented entrepreneurs. In his secondment to Target Corporation, through Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, Owyn worked on several trademark matters, including a trademark dispute and a trademark law lobbying effort. Additionally, he worked on Securities and Exchange Commission filings.

Outside of the firm, Owyn managed a student program at the University of Notre Dame’s entrepreneurship center and commercialization engine. He also interned at the law school’s IP clinic, and did a consultancy for a FinTech company, advising them on fundraising and AI integration. Before law school he started a company that launched a successful Kickstarter campaign.

Personal Interests

Owyn enjoys attending concerts around the Twin Cities, and competing in endurance races and rec-league sports.
