Overview

Eldin Hasic is a puzzle solver, both of the jigsaw and complex litigation kind. He represents clients in multidistrict product liability litigation and helps them solve privacy law challenges through both counseling and dispute resolution.

Products Liability

Within the firm’s Chambers USA nationally ranked products liability group, Eldin has worked on MDL matters since his first day at the firm, with a focus on complex and omnibus briefing, offensive discovery and mass tort litigation strategy. Eldin has been the primary associate on successful MDL and bellwether briefing for summary judgment and discovery requests, as well as current and complex product liability issues including:
  • Federal preemption
  • Admissibility of FDA evidence
  • Statutes of repose
  • Feasible alternative design
  • Standalone medical monitoring claims

Eldin also defends against claims in standalone suits on a variety of products and has experience with all stages of litigation, including pre-suit investigations, discovery, depositions, working with experts and company witnesses, drafting dispositive and Daubert motions, settlement negotiations, and trial support.

Privacy Law

Eldin is also a certified privacy professional (CIPP-US) and counsels clients on how the privacy laws of today affect the technologies of tomorrow. Eldin has assisted with responses to data breaches and has a long-term interest in combining his mass tort and class action litigation experience with his background and interest in privacy and data security.

Past Experience

During law school, Eldin was as a 2L summer associate at the firm, worked on state constitutional issues as a legal extern with the Indiana Attorney General's Office, assigned to Solicitor General, and externed for the Honorable Theresa L. Springmann of the Northern District of Indiana, Fort Wayne Division.

Before law school, Eldin gained insights into the lawmaking process at both the state and federal level. He was a legislative intern during a rambunctious session of the Indiana Legislature and interned for the late Senator Richard Lugar in Washington, D.C., in both the main office and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee office.

Personal Interests and Fun Facts

A native of Bosnia and Herzegovina and a Fort Wayne resident since the fourth grade, Eldin has studied, worked and traveled abroad extensively. He spent a memorable and formative year as a Fulbright Scholar in Ukraine, living and teaching English in the Black Sea region of Crimea prior to its controversial annexation by Russia.

Outside of work, Eldin wears many hats as a soccer fanatic, semiretired pub trivia guru, Third Amendment scholar, Turkish coffee barista, self-appointed local food critic, amateur mixologist and avid hiker living in one of the flattest parts of the country.
