Overview

Richard Hayes partners with clients and offers guidance on their real estate transactional needs. He draws on in-house experience to meet clients’ legal needs while keeping their short and long-term business goals with regards to real estate in mind. Richard represents a broad range of real estate clients including purchasers and sellers, landlords and tenants, and borrowers and lenders in drafting documents and mitigating disputes between parties.

Prior Experience

Richard most recently served as senior vice president, legal and assistant secretary at a publicly traded real estate investment trust in Indiana. He served as the company’s primary transactional attorney in the Northeast Region (New Jersey and Pennsylvania) and oversaw all aspects of industrial acquisition, development and leasing efforts since 2018. Prior to 2018, Richard served as primary transactional counsel for the REIT’s healthcare development nationwide.

Richard is a returning Faegre Drinker alum who served as an associate from 2006 to 2008. He served as an associate at another Big Law firm for three years before joining Faegre Drinker. Richard has also served as an adjunct professor at his alma matter — Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
