Overview

Diego Alfonso Manrique counsels public and privately held companies on a wide variety of corporate matters, including transactions, governance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Prior Experience

Diego first joined Faegre Drinker as a summer associate, conducting research and drafting memorandums for transactional and litigation matters in the corporate, labor and employment, business litigation, and other practice areas. 

During law school, Diego worked as a litigation and research intern at Northwestern’s Bluhm Legal Clinic, writing briefs for trial, appellate and amicus curiae matters regarding post-conviction and clemency proceedings for people convicted of crimes during childhood and serving life sentences. He was also involved with mentoring first year students, working on International Refugee Assistance Program projects, and serving on the law school’s board of appeals for academic honor code violations.

Prior to law school, Diego played in indie bands and worked as a case manager for children in the Florida Department of Children and Family’s adoption and foster care system.

Personal Interests

Diego is an avid runner, musician, soccer fan and home cook. He is currently training to run his first marathon at the Chicago Marathon in 2025.
