Overview

Emanuel (Manny) McMiller helps companies resolve and manage disputes in litigation, partnering with clients to achieve their goals and avoid disruption.

Commercial and Nonprofit Litigation

Manny represents a wide range of clients in breach of contract, product liability, tort and trade secrets, and statutory disputes, including class actions. His substantial experience in depositions, witness interviews, factual and legal analysis, and motions practice has resulted in key wins and resolutions for clients.

UPMIFA / Institutional Funds

Manny advises nonprofit organizations on compliance with the Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA) and, when necessary, guides clients through the process for modifying donor-restricted funds to more effectively achieve the intended charitable purposes.

Diversity & Inclusion and Firm Involvement

Manny is a member of the Faegre Drinker Black Associates Group steering committee, and he previously served as the Indianapolis office's co-lead for Faegre Drinker's Diversity Collective. Manny is also heavily involved in the firm’s recruitment and pro bono efforts. Outside the firm, Manny is a scholarship committee member for the Emanuel McMiller Scholarship for Higher Education, a grant program dedicated in his name to strengthen the diversity pipeline to the legal profession and help unsupported or under-resourced students to be more competitive. He has also served as a mentor for LCLD’s 1L Mentoring Program.

Prior Experience

Manny spent two summers at the firm as a summer associate. During law school, Manny served as president of the Notre Dame Space Law Society, gaining insights into the various legal issues and concerns affecting the space and satellite industry.

Prior to law school, he served as a legal assistant with a personal injury firm in West Palm Beach, Florida.
