Overview

Chelsea Rader assists clients through complex labor and employment regulations and disputes.

Prior Experience

During law school, Chelsea volunteered with The Decarceration Advocacy Project (formerly the Prison Legal Education Project). She engaged directly with incarcerated individuals, helped to create and distribute legal resources, supported legal teams with research and casework, and provided legal education to currently incarcerated individuals to empower them to pursue legal rights. Chelsea was also involved with the Penn Housing Rights Project (PHRP). She contributed to housing justice by directly assisting low-income tenants in Philadelphia, representing tenants in Fair Housing Commission hearings, offering legal and policy research for housing organizations, and staffing Know-Your-Rights workshops. Additionally, Chelsea assisted with research on critical housing topics, including exclusionary zoning and protections for vulnerable tenants.

Before law school, Chelsea worked as a paralegal at a Washington, D.C.-based law firm where she assisted criminal defense attorneys in case preparation and courtroom proceedings.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Chelsea loves to stay active, whether hiking, bike riding, or practicing yoga and Pilates. Exploring new places is a big part of her life — with international travel high on her list — and she’s always excited to discover new restaurants in the city. Chelsea also dedicates her free time to creative projects, including watercolor and acrylic painting, candle making and collaging. When she’s not working on an art project, you’ll find her reading or planning her next adventure.
