Overview
Robin Rank assists private clients and their attorneys with matters related to trust and estate litigation, matrimonial and family law, and various types of litigation and dispute resolution matters.
Private Clients
Robin supports private clients and their legal teams in offices across the firm with litigation, matrimonial and family law, transactional real estate, real estate litigation, eminent domain, land use, property tax appeals, and collection matters.
She is well-versed in civil procedure in Minnesota, Illinois, Colorado and Pennsylvania state courts, as well as in many jurisdictions of U.S. district courts. Robin understands electronic filing and service in all these jurisdictions and has experience with traditional procedures in those states and counties that do not have electronic filing and service options, including in preparing and executing service of process, subpoenas and writs.
Robin has the discovery experience to provide both traditional paper and e-discovery support for collection, review and production in cases of all sizes, and she understands the mechanics of multiple document review platforms. She is trained in the use of Trial Director and Case Notebook.
In addition, Robin provides support across many technical and procedural aspects of litigation and private client matters, including:
- Working closely with clients and providing high-quality service
- Preparing for trial
- Assisting in locating and vetting experts
- Working with experts to meet case and court deadlines
- Performing case-related research
- Drafting and examining documents
- Preparing and recording real estate documents such as deeds, mechanic’s liens and judgments
- Title research
- Preparing, filing and serving various writs for garnishments and collections
Prior Experience
Robin has worked for both private and government agencies, starting at Legal Assistance of Dakota County (Minn.), where she gained experience working with clients on family matters such as dissolution, child custody, maintenance and child support. Robin next worked for the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, where she assisted the Minnesota Departments of Transportation, and of Public Safety and Gambling, as well as the Minnesota College System and Criminal Appeals. Robin also worked for the Office of the Minnesota Appellate Public Defender, where she supported attorneys in preparing and filing criminal appeals.
She also has worked in the private sector providing support for attorneys in real estate transactions and disputes, estate planning, litigation, family law, medical malpractice, and collection matters.
