Faegre Drinker Counsels Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District Through $650M Project
A Faegre Drinker team led by construction and real estate litigation partner Patrick Miller and associate Kevin Major helped the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) complete the Double Track Northwest Indiana Project, a major expansion of the South Shore Line and one of the largest investments in public transit in Indiana history.
The $650 million project, which broke ground in 2022, saw 26.6 miles of second track rail constructed between Gary and Michigan City. Miller and Major acted as lead outside procurement and contracting counsel for NICTD and assisted with project management throughout the course of the project.
The project was supported by construction and real estate litigation associates Cassidy Ingram and Charlie Rodriguez, and senior paralegal Amanda Castor.
