Faegre Drinker Strengthens Indiana Government Relations and Advocacy Team With Counsel Lacey Berkshire and Senior Director Maddie Augustus
Faegre Drinker announced today that counsel Lacey Berkshire and senior director Maddie Augustus have joined the firm’s government and regulatory group in Indianapolis. Their addition continues the growing strength of the Indiana government relations and advocacy team which welcomed counsel Mindy Westrick Brown who rejoined the firm last year.
Berkshire brings a broad skillset and a multidisciplined practice advocating for clients before the Indiana General Assembly and executive branch agencies. She helps large corporations, small businesses, trade associations and other entities navigate governmental processes and procedures, and advises companies on public sector procurement and growth strategies. She has a breadth of experience across many complex policy areas, including healthcare, energy, insurance, local government, controlled substances, and gaming, among others.
Augustus is a registered lobbyist with a robust network of government officials and policy makers and works to collaborate with a diverse array of clients ranging from corporations to nonprofits. Her experience spans legislative branch lobbying, executive branch consulting and procurement strategies, and she regularly leads stakeholder meetings aimed at informing and bringing together clients and government officials.

Berkshire’s prior experience includes practicing government affairs and regulatory law at a national law firm, serving as the director of health plans at the Insurance Institute of Indiana, serving as Legislative Counsel for the Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council and lobbying on behalf of the Indiana Credit Union League as the Director of Advocacy. She earned a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University, a master’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University Indianapolis and her Juris Doctor from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
Augustus prior experience includes serving as director of government relations at the Insurance Institute of Indiana. She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science and a graduate certificate in nonprofit, public and organizational management at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.
