International Data Transfers

In the 11th installment of our General Data Protection Regulation webinar series, partner Peter Blenkinsop and associate Jeremiah Posedel examined the key requirements for international data transfers under the pending European General Data Protection Regulation (set to take effect on May 25, 2018) and their impact on the ways in which entities transfer data under the current Data Protection Directive. We also discussed actual and potential changes to existing transfer mechanisms, including model clauses, Binding Corporate Rules, Privacy Shield and available derogations.
