Rob Leonard negotiates intellectual property and technology transactions, helping clients to protect and maximize the value of their intellectual property as they seek to take their business to new heights.

Technology Agreements and Transactions

Rob has successfully negotiated technology agreements for Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery, IT systems, data centers, software licenses, patent and technology licenses, and joint development relationships. Rob provides trusted counsel in support of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and financing deals.

Technical Experience

Rob has a strong technical background in computer- and software-related technology; he also has significant experience in navigation systems, radar, control systems, rf technology, sensors, semiconductor manufacturing and vision systems. Rob has performed significant work in the life sciences and agricultural fields.

Past Experience

Prior to joining Faegre Drinker, Rob was assistant general counsel and lead intellectual property lawyer for the home and building control business of Honeywell. While at Honeywell, Rob's responsibilities included developing intellectual property strategy, pursuit of infringement, avoidance of infringement, licensing, acquisitions and divestitures, and e-commerce support for a global, $5 billion business.

Rob also spent three years as a civilian electrical engineer for the U.S. Navy.
