On September 14, 2015, Technicolor acquired London-based The Mill for €259 million on a debt-free basis, with a team of 29 attorneys and professionals supporting the transaction's U.S.-based due diligence, Hart-Scott-Rodino filing and antitrust analysis.
The Mill is the world’s largest visual effects and content creation studio for the advertising industry. This acquisition expands Technicolor’s visual effects portfolio, increases annual revenue, and brings talent and expertise that will enable Technicolor to enhance its technology platform across the entire visual effects industry.
While both parties to the transaction are foreign companies, the deal required a Hart-Scott-Rodino filing because of the revenue both companies generate from sales and services in the United States.
